Custom Metal Parts Push Boundaries

Medical Device Company

Etching

Helping a Medical Device Go Global.

The Challenge:

A well-known medical device company was looking for assistance with quick-turnaround prototypes of an extremely small electrical connector. The complex design required small metal parts to be etched, formed, heat-treated and plated. The manufacturing feasibility of the design was initially a concern, but our team was determined to make it happen.

The Response:

We produced multiple prototypes of the electrical connector with various material thicknesses and design modifications. Upon prototype approval, we shifted gears to production, taking over additional processing and coordinating a vendor for gold plating. By the time our customer was purchased by a major medical device manufacturer, full production totaled more than 200,000 components.
