Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2pm – 10:30pm

Responsibilities include:
• Set up and operate equipment per standard operating procedures and describe best practices as instructed.
• always Assures in-process quality. Takes process measurements at prescribed frequency and reacts to out of tolerance conditions.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and champions world-class housekeeping throughout the operation.
• Utilizes maintenance request documentation to keep our equipment functioning as effectively as possible.
• Identifies corrective and preventative actions to assist in continually improving the business with emphasis on principal area(s) of responsibility.
• Displays a positive and team focused attitude. Completes other tasks as required.

Qualifications:
• 1+ years of relevant experience in similar manufacturing environment.
• Safety-minded
• Punctual arrival for shifts
• Organized with strong attention to detail
• Responsible and determined
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Can measure and verify key product characteristics and dimensions to print
• Can recognize, diagnose, and correct basic equipment failures
• Able to fill out, interpret, and react to control charts.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Pre-Employment Drug Test with negative result

Production Lead – 2nd Shift

Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2pm – 10:30pm

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and operate equipment per standard operating procedures, ensuring proper set up for all equipment within the facility.
  • Assist with production scheduling and employee safety.
  • Provide leadership to production personnel, identify and coach employees with additional training.
  • Provide employee feedback and assist with performance reviews, that aligns with Switzer culture.
  • Verify product quality.
  • Plan, organize, and recommend strategies to ensure the manufacturing product and process is developed successfully.
  • Identify corrective and preventative actions to assist in continually improving business.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in similar manufacturing environment, under a certified quality management system (ISO 9001)
  • Ability to work as individual and communicate with 1st shift.
  • Safety-minded

Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

Summary:

Switzer, a precision metal components manufacturer in Blasdell, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their growing team! Switzer believes in pursuing perfection and leveraging the best technology to meet client needs. Switzer values their team and promotes a culture of balance with generous benefits.Successful candidates will be able to install, maintain, and repair electrical/mechanical systems and all equipment within two facilities as well as perform preventative maintenance on and monitor wastewater system. Employee must function at high levels of quality and efficiency while maintaining the highest standard of safety.

Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:

Schedule Monday – Friday 2pm – 10:30pm

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Independently troubleshoot immediate/daily problems and complete corrective actions on all production and wastewater system equipment.
  • Plan, perform, and record data for all requested maintenance, and mechanical/electrical repair work via the Maintenance Repair Work order system for all production and wastewater system equipment.
  • Perform all preventative maintenance and cleaning procedures as documented.
  • Participate in training programs in troubleshooting and performing repair work to advance skills. Participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives, establish standard operating procedures, and assist and advise Production, Engineering, and other business functions as required.

Required Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude, general knowledge of industrial equipment, and ability to identify basic equipment failures.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
  • Demonstration of precision maintenance practices to include understanding of instrumentation, electrical troubleshooting, variable speed drives, control systems, programmable logic controllers, PCs and precision repairs.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of related experience in industrial/mechanical/electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment operating under a certified quality management system (i.e. ISO 9001).
  • Electrical experience with PLC’s (Allen Bradley), AC/DC motors, controls, VFD drives, circuit boards, and 480V-208V three phase experience preferred.
    Previous experience working in an environment with safety training requirements.

Quality Assurance Technician

SUmmary:

Switzer, a precision metal components manufacturer in Blasdell, NY is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join their growing team. Successful candidates have several years’ experience in similar or technical field and can evaluate product and material against defined limits and criteria, and can work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on parts using optical measurement equipment, visual inspection, or other technical testing methods. Includes analysis of production, test parts, supplied materials and components.
  • Manage activities associated with non-conforming materials.
  • Administer the remake process, communication with vendors and corrective action owners.
  • Manage and perform calibration/verification on all gauges used to evaluate product.
  • Manage the plotting, inventory, registration, inspection and cleaning of photo tools.
  • Liaison with maintenance and other departments as needed when equipment issues arise.
  • Participate in auditing, data analysis activities, root cause/corrective action activities, and training.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability calculate sampling plans and follow go-out procedures
  • Able to interpret dimensioned drawings and tolerances
  • Knowledge or ability to learn CMM programming
  • Able to interpret requirements stated in standards, like ASTM and MIL
  • Collaborative, with a positive attitude
  • Logical thinker

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in similar position or technical field
