Machine Operator

Summary:

Machine operator who is able to set up, operate and maintain a subset of the production equipment at one or both Switzer locations.

Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • Sets up and operates equipment per standard operating procedures and described best practices as instructed.
  • Assures in-process quality at all times. Takes process measurements at prescribed frequency and reacts to out of tolerance conditions.
  • Identifies corrective and preventative actions to assist in continually improving the business with emphasis on principal area(s) of responsibility. Displays a positive and team focused attitude. Completes other tasks as required.

Accounting Assistant

Summary:

Accounting assistant who is responsible for maintaining the performance of all accounting and payroll functions. Responsibilities include compiling and maintaining all Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable records; determining Vendor payment schedule and processing payments according to such; tracking and following up on delinquent receivable accounts; and processing and transmitting weekly payroll numbers.

Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • Audit all Vendor invoices, match with received pack slips and Company Purchase Orders and record in accounting database.
  • Determine A/P schedule and prepare payments. Print all A/P reports and maintain all A/P records. Cross trains to maintain A/P focused skills.
  • Analyze Vendor accounts and negotiate extended terms when cash flow is restricted.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations as well as assist in month and year end closes.
  • Actively participate in one-on-one coaching, team meetings, and plant meetings.
  • Prepare and mail customer invoices.
  • Record receipts and update A/R ledger by customer. Print all A/R reports and maintain all A/R records. Cross trains to maintain A/R focused skills.
  • Maintain cash book daily.
  • Follow up with customers with regard to delinquent customer accounts.
  • Process RMAs and other credits as required.
  • Prepare daily cash deposits.
  • Prepare and transmit weekly payroll data.
  • Candidates should have a high school diploma, Associates degree in an accounting field or a combination of 4 years previous work experience and/or education.
  • Required skills are an understanding of accounting principles; good communication skills; general business knowledge; a basic understanding of marketing, human resources and production; computer proficiency including spreadsheets and databases; math and problem-solving skills; and the ability to multi-task.
  • Preferred attributes include detail-oriented, determined, personally accountable, organized, team-oriented and approachable.

Engineer

Summary:

Engineer who develops, implements, measures, analyzes and improves cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; contributes to the evolution of product and service offerings via research and development; and coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • Establish and sustain safe and reliable manufacturing systems that are accurate and repeatable to produce high-quality parts.
  • Implement statistical process control to establish and validate product and process capabilities.
  • Enable real-time analysis of critical process parameters and prescribe corrective action.
  • Develop easy-to-use tools, resources and associated training programs.
  • Solve problems and troubleshoot errors in the manufacturing process.
  • Improve production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeover time while maintaining or improving quality.
  • Enhance manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Develop new manufacturing processes and capabilities by studying product requirements and researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Candidates should have a BS in Engineering.
  • Required skills are an understanding of MS Office, AutoCAD or SolidWorks, Lean Principles (5S, Kaizen, etc.) and the ability to be organized, multi-task, meet deadlines, prioritize projects and have a quality focus.
  • Preferred attributes include experience with ERP systems and experience at a manufacturing company.

HR Manager

Summary:

Switzer, a precision metal components manufacturer in Blasdell, NY, is seeking an HR Manager to join their growing team and lead the HR function. Switzer believes in pursuing perfection and leveraging the best technology to meet client needs.The HR Manager will lead the HR function and develop best in-class solutions for the company and its people.

Successful candidates will possess a well-rounded knowledge of HR processes and an ability to apply strategy in a growing organization. Owning the HR function and reporting to the CEO, this position will work closely with the management team to develop, enhance, implement and administer HR processes that align the team with the company’s mission, vision, values and goals.

Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes and service in the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate development/training processes and programs, including performance management and onboarding.
  • Manage positive employee relations and engagement initiatives.
  • Analyze the benefit strategy and administer benefit plans.
  • Lead the recruitment process for all opportunities.
  • Candidate should have well-rounded HR experience that includes strategy, compliance, workforce planning/recruiting, training/development, compensation/benefits and employee relations.
  • Must have the ability to shift between strategic planning, process/policy creation and hands-on administration.
  • Needs to be able to recognize opportunities to enhance personnel function to support organizational growth (a constantly evolving mindset).
  • Candidate should have 5+ years of experience in an HR role, preferably with new HR function implementation in a manufacturing environment, and a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • PHR or SHRM-SCP certification is desired, with SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
